Remembering how Peter Jackson post-produced Wellington in the image of Middle Earth (I'm a Kiwi by origin) and having spent time in Kampala filming, I was intrigued to read this article in the Economist. There is something supremely refreshing about low-fi tech being put in service of an ambitious dream; it makes all the questions of next-release dates and software upgrades feel anachronistic. For all those building helicopters in their scrapyards, necessity truly is the mother of invention:‘You just killed a helicopter with a car!’... "I was out of bullets."
